We are pleased to announce that Entitled Opinions will be starting up again next week. While the final schedule has yet to be confirmed by the KZSU programming department, we expect to have our regular time slot, namely Tuesday from 5 to 6 pm. Our first show will feature a discussion with historian Philippe Buc on the topic of religion and violence. That will be followed by a conversation with Orhan Pamuk, winner of the 2006 Nobel Prize for literature. Other guests include historian Aron Rodrigue (on the Ottoman empire); archaeologist Michael Shanks (on the origins of agriculture); classical scholar Andrea Nightingale (on love and beauty in Plato); philosopher and historian Hayden White (on the vocation of the Humanities); literary critic Laura Wittman (on the poet A.R. Ammons), and others. Unless you hear from us otherwise, our first show will air on January15.
